The Contemporary Doula International Training program offers a comprehensive and immersive educational experience, equipping you with the knowledge and skills required to excel as a doula.

Support Techniques:

• Environmental: Learn how to create a calming and supportive birth environment, ensuring that laboring individuals feel safe and secure.

• Verbal: Develop effective communication skills to provide emotional support, encouragement, and information to laboring parents, helping them make informed choices.

• Touch: Master the art of tactile support, providing comfort and relief through hands-on techniques, massage, and pressure point manipulation.

• Visualization: Teach clients to focus their thoughts and energy through guided imagery, promoting relaxation and mental strength during labor.

• Acupressure: Discover the power of acupressure for pain management and labor progression, enhancing the birthing experience.

• Rebozo: Utilize traditional Mexican techniques with the rebozo to facilitate optimal fetal positioning and relaxation during labor.

• Peanut Ball: Understand the benefits of the peanut ball in labor positioning, optimizing comfort and progress for both the birthing individual and the baby.

• TENS Unit: Learn to use Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) units for non-pharmacological pain relief during labor.

• Labor and Birth Positions: Explore various labor positions, empowering clients to find the most comfortable and effective postures during labor and birth.

• Birth Preferences: Assist parents in creating their birth plans and understanding their options, ensuring a birthing experience that aligns with their wishes.

• Water Labor/Birth: Gain expertise in water labor and birth techniques, promoting relaxation, and pain relief in a water-based environment.

Holistic Support:

• Aromatherapy: Gain an understanding of the healing power of essential oils to create soothing and calming atmospheres during labor and delivery.

• Moxibustion: Understand the ancient practice of moxibustion to promote optimal fetal positioning and stimulate contractions.

• Placenta Options: Explore the various options and potential benefits associated with the placenta, such as encapsulation, salves, tinctures, smoothies and even chocolate truffles.

Pharmacological/Intervention Support:

• IV Medications: Familiarize yourself with intravenous medications commonly used during labor and understand their effects.

• Epidural: Learn about epidural anesthesia, its administration, and its impact on the birthing process.

• Inductions: Gain knowledge on labor inductions, the reasons for them, and how to support individuals through the process.

• Cesarean Section: Understand the intricacies of cesarean sections and how to provide emotional and practical support to parents undergoing this procedure.
